Summer Vacation Plans
With volcanic ash and airfares going higher and higher, not to mention the economy, this summer’s vacation you just may need a bigger imagination.
I am sure your Travel Professional can help you find some kind of deal but have you thought about just throwing stuff in the car and heading out to a town near you? There are plenty of options to choose whether it’s a 2, 3 or even 6 hour drive. Check with your State’s Visitors Bureau or Chamber of Commerce.
Regardless of your budget or conditioning, a walking or hiking tour could be the best way for you to spend your vacation this summer. There are a lot of informative books about hiking trails in the Southwest or other parts of the country..
Another idea may just be a day or two to a nearby Attraction Park , the kids would love that. You can find hotels that include breakfast, that helps with the costs.
Remember to bring the DVD's. The kids can watch while you drive. This way you will arrive not stressed at your destination. The kids will thank you and you will be happy you brought them.
Also check with your local resorts, they are bound to have local specials. You may still be in your hometown but the enjoyment of staying in a hotel, with a pool and not having to cook three meals a day would make anyone smile from ear to ear.
Being on the go doesn’t mean sacrificing good taste and nutrition. When its time to hit the road, choose your snacks as carefully as your wardrobe. Keeping energy levels high and avoiding vacation weight gain will make your time spent away from home even better.
Happy Travels
